The small village of Garajau is located between Funchal and Caniço. Its main attraction is the famous promontory, called Ponta do Garajau, where you find, overlooking the Atlantic, the big statue of Christ, known as Cristo-Rei.

There is also in the area the beautiful Nature Reserve (Reserva Natural Parcial do Garajau), which, thanks to the extraordinary biological diversity and outstanding clarity of its waters, offers the ideal conditions for diving, making this a more and more famous site among divers throughout the world.

The small picturesque town of Caniço as well as the vibrant capital of the island, Funchal, where there is plenty to see, are within easy reach from Garajau.
